Overview

Jyotish Baje calculates on your device. We do not operate user accounts, analytics services, or advertising networks. Your birth charts and preferences are stored only on your device.
One optional setting is the exception: choosing the Surya Siddhanta tradition sends birth details to our own service. That is the only data that ever leaves your phone, and it is described below.
ज्योतिष बाजे का गणना तपाईंकै यन्त्रमा हुन्छन्। हामी प्रयोगकर्ता खाता, विश्लेषण (analytics) वा विज्ञापन सेवा सञ्चालन गर्दैनौं। तपाईंका कुण्डली र रोजाइहरू केवल तपाईंको यन्त्रमा भण्डारण हुन्छन्।

Data we store on your device

- Saved kundali profiles (name, birth date, time, place)
- App settings (language, theme, calculation preferences)
- Optional first-run setup choices
This data stays on your phone unless you export or share it yourself, or you turn on the Surya Siddhanta tradition described below.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect GPS location, contacts, photos, or personal identifiers. City coordinates come from bundled reference data — not from tracking you. Apart from the Surya Siddhanta request described below, the app makes no network calls at all.

Surya Siddhanta mode (optional)

By default the app calculates everything on your device and makes no network requests. If you change the calculation tradition to Surya Siddhanta in Settings, the app sends that chart's birth details over HTTPS to our service at api-sss.astrobaje.com, which returns the classical planetary positions. What is sent is:
- Birth date, time, and UTC offset
- The birth place name you entered, and its latitude and longitude
No name, account, device identifier, or advertising ID is sent with the request, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. The result is stored on your device, so each birth record is sent at most once — every later opening of that chart is offline. Everything derived from those positions (houses, dashas, vargas, yogas) is still computed on your phone.
Leave the tradition set to Drik, the default, and this never happens.

Third-party libraries

Planetary positions use the Swiss Ephemeris (Astrodienst AG) via the sweph package. Open-source licenses for bundled libraries are available in the app under Settings → Open source licenses.
